FAQs
How do I place an order?
Ordering with PlatedPal is designed to be simple and convenient. Start by browsing our curated list of catering packages or à la carte options, which are organized by event type, cuisine, and dietary preferences. Once you find the perfect selection, click “Add to Cart” and follow the on-screen checkout process. You’ll be prompted to select your event date, provide delivery or venue details, and add any special instructions for the caterer. After submitting payment through our secure portal, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details of your order, including a contact link for your assigned event coordinator.
Is payment secure?
Yes, protecting your payment information is one of our top priorities. All transactions are processed through industry-standard, PCI-compliant payment gateways that use advanced encryption to safeguard your data. We never store your full credit card details on our servers, and our site is regularly monitored for security vulnerabilities. Additionally, we support trusted payment methods such as major credit cards and secure third-party platforms for your peace of mind. You can shop with confidence knowing that your personal and financial information is handled with care.
Can I request a custom menu?
Yes — creating unique, memorable menus is one of our specialties. Whether you’re planning a themed event, accommodating multiple cultural cuisines, or simply want dishes that reflect your personal tastes, our culinary team will work with you to design a fully customized menu. This process begins with a brief consultation where we’ll discuss your vision, budget, guest count, and any dietary requirements. From there, we’ll present you with menu options and tasting opportunities (when available) to ensure everything meets your expectations. Custom menu pricing varies depending on ingredient availability, preparation complexity, and vendor selection.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, we understand that event details can change. You can modify or cancel your order up to 48 hours before your scheduled event without penalty. Simply log into your account and click on “My Orders” to make adjustments, or contact our support team directly via phone or email. If changes are needed within 48 hours of your event, we’ll do our best to accommodate them, though availability and menu flexibility may be limited, and additional fees could apply. Any refunds for canceled orders will be processed back to your original payment method within 3–5 business days.
Do you operate nationwide?
At this time, PlatedPal serves select metropolitan areas and regions, with plans to expand coverage in the future. Our network of caterers is growing, so we recommend checking our service availability tool during checkout, where you can enter your event location to confirm if we operate in your area. Even if we don’t yet serve your region, we encourage you to sign up for our mailing list so you can be notified when we launch in your city.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking your catering at least two weeks in advance for small to medium events, and four to six weeks ahead for large-scale gatherings such as weddings or corporate conferences. This ensures you have access to your preferred caterers and menu items while also giving us ample time to coordinate logistics. During peak seasons (spring and early summer weddings, holiday parties in December), caterers tend to book quickly, so reserving your date earlier is always a smart move. Last-minute requests can often be accommodated, but menu and vendor options may be limited.
Do you consider dietary restrictions?
Absolutely — inclusivity and guest satisfaction are priorities for us. We offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and other allergen-conscious options across many of our menus. During checkout, you can specify any dietary needs in the “Special Instructions” field, and we’ll coordinate with the selected caterer to ensure those requirements are met. Our team can also recommend specific vendors who specialize in certain dietary cuisines to make your planning easier. Please note that while our vendors take precautions, cross-contamination in shared kitchen environments is still possible, and we encourage guests with severe allergies to discuss concerns directly with our team.
Do you offer setup and cleanup?
Yes, for customers who want a fully hands-off experience, we offer both setup and post-event cleanup services as an add-on to catering orders. This option includes trained staff who will arrange food displays, set up serving stations, manage buffet lines if applicable, and then return after the event to clear tables, pack away leftover food, and restore the space to its original condition. These services can be tailored to the size and style of your event and are priced based on staffing requirements and event duration. Simply let us know during booking if you’d like to include setup and/or cleanup in your package.
What if my event is outdoors and the weather changes?
We understand that weather can be unpredictable, especially for outdoor events. If your event is affected by severe weather conditions such as heavy rain, high winds, or extreme temperatures, our team will work closely with you to arrange an alternative plan. This may include moving your catering service indoors, providing tent or canopy options, or rescheduling the service for another date. While we do our best to minimize disruption, please note that certain last-minute adjustments may incur additional costs, especially if extra equipment or staffing is required. To reduce the risk of weather-related issues, we recommend having a contingency plan in place at the time of booking.
